Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) seized the SELEN container ship in the Strait of Hormuz due to lack of transit permit.
“Elchi” reports that Ali Reza Tangsiri, head of the IRGC Navy, stated this on the social network “X”.
“The SELEN container ship was seized by the IRGC Navy due to non-compliance with legal protocols and the lack of permission to pass through the Strait of Hormuz,” he wrote.
He emphasized that any vessel passing through this route requires full coordination with Iranian authorities.
It should be recalled that the US and Israel launched military operations against Iran on February 28 and carried out airstrikes on several cities. In response, Iran fired missiles at Israeli territory and attacked US military bases in Gulf countries. Several states in the region temporarily closed their airspace due to the situation. On the same day, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed as a result of the strikes.
