President Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

On the occasion of March 23 – Pakistan Day, I am pleased to convey my sincerest congratulations and best wishes to you and your fraternal people on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan.
Stemming from the will of our fraternal peoples, who are bound together by deep historical roots and common religious and spiritual values, Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations are at a high level today. Regular high-level mutual visits, our close contacts, and the active dialogue between us give a significant impetus to the strengthening of our interstate relations in all areas, and to the realization of new partnership opportunities both on a bilateral basis and on a multilateral platform. In this regard, I would like to specifically mention your visits to our country last year.
Relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan have a multifaceted cooperation agenda. The mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries in political, economic, trade, industrial, energy, transport-logistics, defense, investment, humanitarian, and other fields is enriched with new content day by day. The launch of the first “ASAN xidmət” center in Islamabad a while ago is a new practical result of our large-scale interstate cooperation. The achievements we have made in a short period on the basis of bilateral cooperation serve the welfare and prosperity of our peoples and cooperation in our region.
Cooperation based on mutual trust and support between Azerbaijan and Pakistan also continues successfully on a multilateral basis. Our common views on regional and global issues, and our mutual support within international organizations are clear examples of Azerbaijan-Pakistan brotherhood and solidarity.
I highly appreciate your constant determination and resolve to further strengthen and deepen our interstate relations and strategic partnership.
I am confident that the Azerbaijan-Pakistan strategic partnership, which has been formed between our fraternal countries and fully meets the common interests of our peoples, will continue to strengthen and deepen thanks to our joint determined efforts.
