At least eight people have been killed in Nigeria’s Borgu district of Niger State following the explosion of an improvised explosive device.
“Elchi” reports this, citing the local newspaper “The Sun Nigeria”.
According to the report, the explosion destroyed a bridge. Seven passengers and the driver in a car that was on the bridge at the time died at the scene.
The explosive is suspected to have been planted by terrorists.
Vasiu Abiodun, the official representative of the Niger State Police Department, stated that security forces have launched an anti-terror operation.
