“Globally, 3 billion people live in inadequate housing conditions.”“Elchi” reports that Anaklaudia Rossbach, Executive Director of the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), made these remarks during a briefing dedicated to the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).According to her, 300 million people are homeless, and over 1 billion people struggle to survive in informal settlements lacking infrastructure and fundamental services.A. Rossbach emphasized that the WUF13 session, to be held in Baku from May 17-22 this year, will be an important platform for solving these problems:“In the coming decades, another 2 billion people are expected to move to cities, and WUF13 is the main venue where systematic solutions will be discussed to ensure this population influx is provided with proper shelter.”
