In 2026, more than 65 thousand hectares of land are planned to be cleared of mines.

“Elchi” reports that Prime Minister Ali Asadov stated this during the presentation of the ‘Report on the Activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2025’.

“Extensive mine clearance operations are ongoing in the liberated territories. In 2025, 69.2 thousand hectares, and overall, in the territories liberated since 2020, approximately 249 thousand hectares of land have been cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance (UXO), with a total of 237 thousand mines and UXO discovered. This constitutes one-third of the mine-contaminated areas. In 2026, more than 65 thousand hectares of land are planned to be cleared of mines,” Prime Minister noted.
