“Elchi” reports that Prime Minister Ali Asadov stated this during the presentation of the “Report on the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2025”.
It was noted that defense and national security expenditures have also been increased in the 2025 state budget: “This demonstrates that ensuring the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security of our country is one of the main priorities of state policy. For this purpose, 8.1 billion manats have been allocated from the 2025 state budget for defense and national security expenditures (1.5 billion manats or 23% more compared to 2024). Last year, we produced military products worth 1.4 billion manats. Today, Azerbaijan exports military products to nearly 20 countries. Considering the current geopolitical situation, consistently focusing on preserving the achieved results, including strengthening security, increasing defense capability, ensuring border inviolability, and protecting national interests, continues to be of utmost importance.”
