US Secretary of Defense Pit Hegset, stating that Iran’s newly elected leader Mojtaba Khamenei is wounded: “We will continue to strike Iran. This is the day we will carry out the most intensive attacks within Iran,” he said.
“Elchi” reports that US Secretary of Defense Pit Hegset made striking statements regarding the Iran operation at a press briefing held at the Pentagon.
Hegset emphasized that operations against Iran would continue, conveying the message that the Washington administration would increase military pressure. The Secretary noted that Iran’s military infrastructure would continue to be targeted, stating, “All of Iran’s defense companies will be destroyed in the near future.”
Hegset, stating that the Iranian leadership has retreated to underground shelters due to the attacks: “The Iranian leadership has gone underground. Iranian leaders are going to shelters and civilian areas,” he said.
Hegset also said the following about Iran’s new religious leader, Mojtaba Khamenei:
“Iran’s religious leader is wounded and most likely crippled. Yesterday he issued a statement, but there was no audio or video. It was just a written statement. Iran has enough cameras and audio recording devices — so why only a written statement? I think you know the reason. He is scared. He is wounded. He is on the run and has no legitimacy. It’s complete chaos for them. Who is running the country? Perhaps Iran itself doesn’t even know.”
Hegset, stating that the final decision belongs to US President Trump: “Trump holds all the cards. Trump will decide the timing,” he added.
