Iran has allowed two tankers bound for India to pass through the Strait of Hormuz

Amidst the escalation in the Middle East, a liquefied gas tanker bound for India has passed through the Strait of Hormuz.

“Elchi” reports that India’s NDTV channel published this information on its website.

It was reported that the vessel passed through the strait today during daylight hours without any incident. It was noted that another tanker is expected to depart for India soon.

Earlier, Iran’s ambassador to India, Mohammad Fathali, had stated that Tehran would allow ships bound for India to safely pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

It was noted that India obtains 50 percent of its natural gas needs from the international market, with 20 percent of this being imported from Qatar. After Iran’s missile strikes on Qatar’s gas fields, “QatarEnergy”, the world’s largest natural gas exporter, halted production, which affected the supply of natural gas.

It should be recalled that the US and Israel launched a military operation against Iran on February 28. SEPAH announced that it had launched a large-scale retaliatory operation by attacking facilities in Israel, Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
