French President Emmanuel Macron expressed confidence that his European Union (EU) partners would do everything necessary to fulfill their obligations under an EU loan of 90 billion euros for Ukraine.
“Elchi” citing Ukrainian media, reports that he stated this at a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky in Paris.
“We will do everything in our power to unblock the agreed 90 billion euro loan,” he said.
Macron noted that since 2022, the total volume of assistance provided by the EU is approaching 200 billion euros.
The French President also expressed support for Ukraine’s path to European integration: “The path to membership requires a lot of effort. But the path Ukraine has taken despite the war is admirable. Ukraine deserves the opening of the first negotiation clusters. I have no doubt about this. Despite the obstacles that have arisen, we will achieve this.”
