A voluntary blood donation campaign has been organized at the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute, operating under the National Defense University, within the framework of the “For a Life Without Thalassemia” program, initiated by First Vice-President and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva.
The Ministry of Defense informed “Elchi” about this.
Approximately 100 cadets, about 30 professors, teachers, and officers of the military institute participated in the event.
During the campaign, the medical brigade of the Republican Blood Bank, operating under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, took blood from donors after checking their health.
After examination, the collected blood samples will be certified and handed over to the relevant authorities for use in the treatment of those suffering from hereditary blood diseases.
The main purpose of the blood donation campaign is to create a blood reserve for children suffering from thalassemia, hemophilia, leukemia, and other blood diseases, to preserve the traditions of voluntary and unpaid blood donation in society and the army, and to ensure a continuous supply of blood and blood components.
