Azerbaijan provided great support for the evacuation of Chinese citizens from Iran.“Elchi” reports that China’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Lu Mei, said this at a briefing held at the embassy.The Ambassador stated that after the US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran, extensive evacuation measures were carried out to safely remove Chinese citizens from the country: “After the airstrikes, the Azerbaijani government actively assisted in the evacuation of Chinese citizens from Iran. Azerbaijan supported the successful passage of more than 600 Chinese citizens through the Astara state border checkpoint.”Lu Mei noted that this step is another example of the high-level political mutual trust between China and Azerbaijan: “Therefore, I express my deep gratitude to the Azerbaijani government for its support and assistance.”
