A fine will be imposed for the application of physical punishment against a child.
“Elchi” reports that this is reflected in the bill on amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, which was discussed at today’s joint meeting of the Legal Policy and State Building, Human Rights committees of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) in a videoconference format.
According to the bill, parents (persons replacing them), employees of educational, medical, social service, sports, cultural, recreational institutions, and penitentiary institutions responsible for supervising children will be fined 200 manats for the application of physical punishment against a child, i.e., committing physical and/or psychological violence against a child for educational purposes or as a disciplinary measure.
The aforementioned act will be applied when it does not lead to criminal liability according to the relevant articles of the Criminal Code.
