On March 12, an athletics competition was held among employees of state agencies at the Baku Athletics Center, co-organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Athletics Federation.
According to information provided to “Elchi” from the MES, participants competed in 60, 400, 800-meter running and long jump events.
MES employees participating in the competition managed to achieve high results. Thus, in the men’s 60-meter race, internal service sergeant Ilkin Alizade, an employee of the State Fire Protection Service (SFPS), surpassed all his rivals and won a gold medal. In the women’s 60-meter race, Malakhanim Mammadova, an employee of the Ministry’s Apparatus, won gold, while Zakiyya Karimli, an employee of the Sports and Health Club, won a silver medal.
In addition, in the men’s 800-meter race, chief warrant officer Jalal Suleymanov, an employee of the Special Risky Rescue Service (SRRS), won gold, and captain Ilgar Mammadov, an employee of the Baku Regional Center, won a silver medal. In the women’s 400-meter race, Malakhanim Mammadova was awarded 1st place, and lieutenant Sima Safarova, an employee of the SRRS, was awarded 2nd place. In the long jump competition, internal service chief sergeant Yevgeniy Kasilov, an employee of the SFPS, won a silver medal among men, and Zakiyya Karimli won a silver medal among women.
The winners were presented with diplomas and medals established by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
