A coloring agent has been detected in more than 21 tons of oranges imported from Iran to Azerbaijan.
“Elchi” reports that the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA) released information about this.
Within the framework of AFSA’s control measures, samples were taken from a total of 21,200 kg of orange products, imported from Iran by “Karvan Agro” LLC and produced by Sajad Babaiee.
As a result of the laboratory analysis, a non-conformity was detected in the product regarding the coloring agent not permitted for use – “Citrus Red -2”.
In connection with the detected non-conformity, appropriate measures were taken, and a request was addressed to the relevant institution of Iran regarding the suspension of exports from the producer enterprise Sajad Babaiee.
