In Azerbaijan, 198 cases of tuberculosis infection were detected in children in 2025.
elchi reports that this was stated by Irada Akhundova, director of the Scientific Research Institute of Lung Diseases of the Ministry of Health.
According to her, a positive trend is observed in tuberculosis infection in Azerbaijan: “If in 2015, active tuberculosis was detected in 369 children, in 2025 this number decreased to 198. In 2024, this number was 278.”
I. Akhundova also noted that the dynamics of tuberculosis incidence per thousand people in Azerbaijan was 41 in 2015, and in 2025 this number became 21: “Positive changes are already being recorded in statistical indicators. 2/3 of the patients are men, and 1/3 are women.”
