Iftar table opened for participants of the Global Baku Forum

Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office, hosted an iftar dinner for participants visiting our country within the framework of the XIII Global Baku Forum.

“Elchi” reports that, in addition to forum participants, leaders of religious confessions operating in Azerbaijan also attended the event.

The iftar ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and the Ramadan prayer.

Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office, stated that it is a great honor for people from various countries around the world to gather in Azerbaijan. “Multiculturalism, relations between religions and denominations in Azerbaijan are at a higher level than anywhere else in the world. The foundation of this environment and multiculturalism was laid by National Leader Heydar Aliyev. This policy is successfully continued today by President Ilham Aliyev,” Allahshukur Pashazade emphasized.

Miguel Angel Moratinos, High Representative for the UN Alliance of Civilizations and Special Envoy for Combating Islamophobia, thanked Azerbaijan for creating such a platform: “I want to assure you that throughout my career, I have supported the fight against Islamophobia. Azerbaijan’s policy in this area is extremely inspiring.”

Ismail Serageldin, Co-chair of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, drew attention to the importance of people knowing and respecting each other. He emphasized that Azerbaijan’s value for human brotherhood is a great source of pride for everyone.

Amr Moussa, former Secretary-General of the Arab League, noted that Azerbaijan’s example of multiculturalism contributes to the establishment of peace in the world.

In the speeches, Azerbaijan’s steps towards promoting interfaith and intercultural dialogue at the international level were highly appreciated, and it was emphasized that our country has formed an exemplary model in this field.

Later, the iftar dinner was served.
