Azer Gasimli, Director of the Institute of Political Management and political scientist, has been deprived of liberty for 12 years.
According to “Elchi”, the verdict was announced at the Baku Court for Grave Crimes during a trial chaired by Judge Telman Huseynov.
It should be noted that A. Gasimli was detained in December 2024, and a pre-trial detention measure was imposed on him by court decision.
He is found guilty under Article 182.2.3 of the Criminal Code (extortion committed with the use of force).
