Azerbaijan plays a central role in the diversification of the European Union’s energy sources.
“Elchi” reports that the President of the European Union Council, Antonio Costa, shared this on his social media account.
He emphasized that energy security is at the heart of cooperation between the European Union and Azerbaijan.
The EU official recalled the decisions adopted four years ago in Versailles, stating:
“Four years ago today in Versailles, the European Union Council agreed on the diversification of energy sources. Azerbaijan has been at the center of these efforts.”
Antonio Costa also added that, against the backdrop of current global instability, the energy partnership between the parties is more important than ever.
