In the initial stage, seabed research is commencing in the “Goshadash” area for the purpose of preparing for 3D OBN (Ocean Bottom Node) seismic field operations.
According to information provided by SOCAR to “Elchi”, the preliminary conduct of this research will ensure the optimal placement of nodes and the efficiency of planned operations during future seismic field work. The results obtained will support the successful implementation of the seismic program.
Within the framework of the research, advanced multibeam and sonar technologies are used to accurately map seabed conditions and identify potential obstacles, which ensures safer and more optimal placement of ocean bottom nodes.
The work is carried out by SOCAR’s Geophysics and Geology Department (GGD) in cooperation with “SOCAR Fugro” company.
The preliminary execution of these works will create conditions for more efficient conduct of planned future field operations and the acquisition of high-quality seismic data.
