“Elchi” reports that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s sister Kim Yo-jong condemned the joint military exercise by the US and South Korea, warning that it would lead to “unimaginably terrible consequences.”
According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), Kim reacted to the “Freedom Shield” exercise by the US and South Korea.
Kim stated that “the display of force by hostile forces near our state’s sovereign and security zone could lead to unimaginably terrible consequences.”
Noting that the global security structure is rapidly collapsing and wars are breaking out in various parts of the world, Kim claimed that the exercise would further destabilize the region.
The exercise started on March 9
The US and South Korea began their annual joint military exercises aimed at strengthening their defense capabilities on March 9.
A total of 18,000 soldiers from both countries are expected to participate in the “Freedom Shield” exercise, which will continue until March 19. The number of locations for the exercise, which was held in 51 places last year, will be reduced to 22 this year.
