The Ministry of Emergency Situations appealed to the public regarding fire safety in connection with Wind Tuesday.
“Elchi” reports, citing MES, that the appeal states:
“Today, our people celebrate Wind Tuesday in connection with the arrival of Novruz, which embodies our national and spiritual values.
It should be noted with regret that despite the mass awareness-raising efforts carried out by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, including repeated appeals, violations of fire safety rules are encountered in a number of cases during Novruz ceremonies, which ultimately leads to bitter consequences.
For instance, last Tuesday, a total of 10 fire incidents related to bonfires were recorded by the Ministry’s fire protection units.
In connection with the above, the Ministry of Emergency Situations once again appeals to the public, calling for strict adherence to the following fire safety rules:
– holiday bonfires should be lit away from buildings, cars, electrical wires, trees, and other flammable objects;
– minors gathered around the bonfire must be under the supervision of adults;
– caution should be exercised when jumping over the bonfire;
– the bonfire must be kept under control until it is completely extinguished;
– candles lit on tables should not be left unattended.
Also, it should be noted that lighting bonfires in windy weather conditions is considered particularly dangerous.
Remember: the use of pyrotechnic devices is prohibited!
Don’t forget: Indifference to rules – is a danger to our lives!”
MES recommended calling 112 in case of danger.
