The number of fatalities due to floods in Kenya has reached 49.
“Elchi” reports that the “Daily Nation” newspaper published information about this.
Floods in Kenya have been ongoing since March 6, with most of the fatalities occurring in Nairobi. At least 2,600 families have been forced to leave their homes.
According to the police, search and rescue operations are ongoing in several districts.
The natural disaster also caused significant damage to infrastructure. In many places, roads were flooded, water lines and sewage systems were damaged, and electricity supply was disrupted. Additionally, 16 police stations were submerged. Nevertheless, law enforcement agencies assured that these problems did not affect the efforts to provide assistance to victims and to quickly eliminate the destructive consequences of the floods.
