The meeting of the US and Ukrainian negotiation teams, planned for this week, is postponed due to the escalation of the situation around Iran.
“Elchi” reports that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this following the results of a consultation held with the country’s negotiation team.
“We are in contact with the American side practically 24/7. Currently, the partners’ priority and full attention (is focused – ed.) on the situation around Iran, and for this reason, at the suggestion of the American side, the meeting planned for this week is postponed. However, Ukraine is ready for a meeting at any moment in a format that can help end the war and will be realistic,” he noted.
Zelensky also noted the unacceptability of Russia manipulating the situation in the Middle East to continue the war against Ukraine and open a second front, condemning the strikes on neighboring states during the military conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran.
