The US has urged its citizens to leave the southeastern regions of Turkey and has begun withdrawing some staff from its consulate in Adana.
“Elchi” reports that this was announced by the US Embassy in Ankara.
According to the report, Washington recommended its non-essential consulate staff in Adana, a city in southern Turkey near a major NATO base, to leave the building, and also urged US citizens to leave the country’s southeast.
The decision was made due to security risks.
“Americans in southeastern Turkey are advised to leave now,” the embassy added.
