Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s new Supreme Leader, is not on the European Union’s (EU) sanctions list.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by Anvar al-Anuni, spokesperson for the EU’s External Action Service.
“The EU’s sanctions list is open for review. Mojtaba Khamenei has not been subjected to European sanctions,” he said.
Al-Anuni reminded that decisions regarding additions to the sanctions list are the responsibility of the EU Council and are adopted unanimously by all 27 member states.
