The Turkish Ministry of National Defense announced that NATO forces neutralized a ballistic missile fired from Iran.
“Elchi” reports that a warning message was also conveyed to Iran in the statement.
“A ballistic missile fired from Iran and entering Turkish airspace was neutralized by NATO air and missile defense systems deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean. Some debris from the missile fell into empty areas in Gaziantep. No casualties or injuries were recorded in the incident.
Turkey attaches great importance to good neighborly relations and regional stability. However, we reiterate that all necessary steps will be taken decisively and without hesitation against any threat directed at our country’s territory and airspace. We remind everyone that adhering to Turkey’s warnings in this regard is in everyone’s best interest,” the ministry stated.
