Entry-exit (including entry-exit for transit purposes) for the purpose of cargo transportation for all types of vehicles across the state border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran has been restored as of 10:00 AM today.
This was reported to “Elchi” by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
It should be noted that, according to Decision No. 66 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated March 5, 2026, entry-exit (including entry-exit for transit purposes) for the purpose of cargo transportation for all types of vehicles across the state border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran had been temporarily suspended. The reason for this was cited as attacks with unmanned aerial vehicles targeting civilian infrastructure in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran on March 5. It was reported that, taking into account the current situation created as a result of these attacks, which are contrary to the norms and principles of international law, a relevant decision was adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers regarding the temporary complete suspension of the movement of cargo vehicles (including the movement of cargo vehicles for transit purposes) from all border crossing points at the Azerbaijan-Iran state border.
