Considering the recent events in the region, posts containing excessive disinformation and provocation targeting Turkey-Azerbaijan relations and Azerbaijan itself have been observed on some platforms, especially on social media.
“Elchi” reports that this information was disseminated by the Disinformation Combat Center of the Department of Public Relations of the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications.
It was stated that Turkey and Azerbaijan, firmly bound by an unbreakable history and common values, have successfully overcome challenges they faced not only today but also numerous times in the past: “Bilateral relations, conducted at the leadership level by Turkish Head of State Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, are carried out at all levels under the motto ‘One Nation, Two States’.”
The public is asked to be more sensitive to statements, disinformation, and smear campaigns that go beyond their objectives and could harm this brotherhood, and to take into account the statements made by the Turkish and Azerbaijani authorities regarding important issues.
