“The post on social networks about the alleged deployment of heavy weapons belonging to the Azerbaijani Army to the state border with the Islamic Republic of Iran is an information manipulation, the essence of which has been deliberately distorted.”
“Elchi” reports that this was reflected in the information released by the Media Development Agency.
It was stated that presenting the same image, which reflects the process of military equipment relocation in January of this year, as a new “fact” with misleading statements aims to mislead public opinion:
“We strongly condemn such information provocations aimed at manipulating information and creating panic during the ongoing military operations in the Middle East.
We remind that disseminating information about the movement or dislocation of personnel, military weapons, ammunition, or military equipment of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces carries criminal liability.
Against the backdrop of regional tensions, the dissemination of inaccurate and unverified information on social networks is aimed at increasing the risk of disinformation and creating confusion in society.
Media entities must demonstrate high professionalism in relation to the information flow on social networks, refer only to official sources, and not disseminate content that is suspicious in origin or manipulative in nature.”
