Is the Hajj pilgrimage postponed?

“The Hajj pilgrimage is not expected to be postponed due to the ongoing events.”

“Elchi” reports, citing APA, that these words were stated by Vusal Jahangiri, Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO) and Head of the Hajj electronic system.

He stated that the date of the Hajj pilgrimage is fixed and does not change: “There is nothing on the agenda regarding war; the process continues normally. The war has not affected the registration process either. Those who refuse the Hajj pilgrimage have not been registered; on the contrary, there are daily applicants.”

Vusal Jahangiri also noted that over 85 percent of the quota has already been filled: “The first flight will be on May 17. The first group of pilgrims will consist of 180 people.”

It should be recalled that the price of a pilgrimage package for one person during the 2026 Hajj season has been set at 6100 US dollars (10,370 AZN).
