A report has been submitted to the International Civil Aviation Organization regarding the attack on Nakhchivan airport.
This was reported to “Elchi” by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport (MDDT).
It was noted that on March 5, attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles were carried out from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran against the “Nakhchivan” International Airport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, targeting its terminal building.
In accordance with the Convention on International Civil Aviation dated December 7, 1944, including the international standards of Annex 17 – “Aviation Security” to the Convention, when an act of unlawful interference with an airport occurs, an initial report prepared by the member state must be sent to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Proceeding from international standards, the “State Civil Aviation Agency” public legal entity under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan has sent a corresponding initial report to ICAO.
It should be noted that on March 5, Iran attacked Nakhchivan airport with drones. One of the drones hit one of the airport’s terminals, and several other drones fell in other locations. Another drone landed near the village school of Shakarabad.
