Two-day-old baby dies in Absheron

A two-day-old baby has died in Absheron district.

“Elchi” reports that the incident occurred at Absheron District Central Hospital.

In response to an inquiry from the hospital, it was stated that a woman born in 1981 was hospitalized around 12:30 PM on March 2nd to the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department of the medical institution.

According to the information, the patient was admitted to the department with amniotic fluid leakage, the onset of labor, and a 3 cm cervical dilation. On the same day, a premature birth was performed by operative method in the 36th week of pregnancy, marking the 5th pregnancy and 3rd birth for the patient.

The newborn baby’s weight at birth was 3,400 grams. The baby’s Apgar score was 7/8. The newborn was initially diagnosed with respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) and received appropriate medical care under the supervision of doctors, according to its condition.

During the treatment process, pulmonary hypertension and subsequent lung hemorrhage were recorded in the baby. Despite the intensive treatment measures taken, the biological death of the baby was recorded on March 4th.

The condition of the postpartum woman, who received necessary medical services, was assessed as stable, and she was discharged home for outpatient treatment in the evening of the same day.
