Tense moments in the Gulf: Iranian planes shot down moments before reaching target

Two Iranian Su-24 bomber jets were reportedly shot down just two minutes before attacking a US base in Qatar.
“Elchi” reports that two Iranian bomber jets were shot down by Qatari fighter jets while preparing to attack a US base in Qatar. According to CNN International, citing two sources familiar with the operation, the Iranian planes were just two minutes away from their targets.
The report states that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard sent two Su-24 bomber jets to Qatar. Their targets were Al Udeid Air Base, where approximately 10,000 US soldiers are stationed, and the Ras Laffan natural gas processing plant, a key component of Qatar’s economy. One source stated that the Iranian planes were “two minutes” away from their targets. Another source reported that the planes were visually identified and photographed carrying bombs and guided munitions. According to the same source, Qatar warned the Iranian planes via radio but received no response. It was reported that the Iranian planes descended to an altitude of approximately 25 meters to evade radar detection.
