Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine could provide expert support to Gulf countries targeted by Iran’s “Shahed” drones, adding: “Such cooperation aimed at protecting our partners can only be carried out without weakening Ukraine’s own defense capabilities.”
“Elchi” reports that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made statements on his social media account regarding Iran’s retaliatory attacks targeting Gulf countries. He stated that he spoke with the leaders of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar, adding: “We will continue these diplomatic relations with the Middle East and Gulf countries in general.” Zelensky emphasized Ukraine’s solidarity with everyone who opposes the spread of war and violence, stating: “The Iranian regime has for decades invested in destroying the lives of its neighbors and people everywhere it can reach, and in this regard, it has colluded with Russia in the war against Ukraine.”
Zelensky also highlighted their experience in the field of “Shahed” drones.
Criticizing Iran for its “Shahed” drones, Zelensky said: “Every ‘Shahed’ drone in Ukrainian airspace proves that the Iranian regime is responsible for its attempts to destroy and kill people’s lives. It is important that those who defend life win in this conflict.” Zelensky noted that Ukraine specializes in defending itself against Iranian-made “Shahed” drones and can support other countries on this topic. He stated that “together with teams from the UAE and Qatar, as well as other states, we will determine how we can protect people’s lives more effectively. Ukraine’s experience in combating ‘Shahed’ drones is currently at the world’s most advanced level. These drones also represent the biggest challenge in the region.”
He added that they are open to cooperation that will support the defense of their partners, stating: “Such cooperation aimed at protecting our partners can only be done without weakening Ukraine’s own defense capabilities. Russia’s war against Ukraine continues, Russia’s attacks continue, and protecting the lives of Ukrainians remains our priority.”
