Trump’s Spain statement: We will cut all trade relations

US President Donald Trump announced that he would cut all trade relations with Spain, which does not allow the US to use its bases.
“Elchi” reports that US President Donald Trump answered journalists’ questions during a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in the Oval Office.
Regarding Spain, which does not allow the US to use its bases, Trump said: “Spain said we cannot use their bases, which is not true. We can use their bases if we want to. No one can tell us not to use their bases. Spain is currently in a terrible situation. In fact, I instructed Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to cut all trade relations with Spain.”
Trump also stated that European countries should provide more support to the US and Israel and made a statement regarding Great Britain. Commenting on Great Britain’s century-long lease agreement for Diego Garcia, where a US base is located, Trump said: “Great Britain is also far from cooperation. Great Britain’s attitude is shocking, but we are not living in Churchill’s era. They foolishly leased Diego Garcia for a hundred years.”
