An iftar ceremony was organized in Kars, Turkey, by the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the local bureau of “Elchi”, Zamin Aliyev, Consul General of Azerbaijan in Kars, Ötüken Senge, Mayor of Kars, and Ziya Polat, Governor of Kars, speaking at the iftar ceremony, emphasized the importance of the month of Ramadan for the Islamic world, and that the iftar dinner promotes solidarity, friendship, and cooperation. It was noted that such events further strengthen the unity between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, spoke about Azerbaijan-Turkey unity. According to him, the two countries are united not only by common ethnic and cultural values but also by common economic and geopolitical interests. He stated that the two brotherly countries have a say on a global scale:
“Although Kars’ harsh climate and snowy weather conditions create some difficulties, we will still come and continue to hold such events.”
He stated that ensuring freedom of religious belief between Azerbaijan and Turkey, as well as strengthening cooperation in the field of religious education and increasing the exchange of experience, are important issues for the future. Following the speeches, Ramadan prayers were recited.
