To date, 81 employers in Azerbaijan have granted paid paternity leave to about 100 employees.
“Elchi” reports that the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population has disseminated information regarding this.
It was noted that this leave covers the periods before and after the child’s birth.
It should be recalled that one of the new changes made to the legislation on labor relations, which is currently in force, is the granting of 14 calendar days of paid leave to men in connection with the birth of a child, covering the pre-birth and post-birth periods.
In this regard, new functionality was created in January in the “Labor and Employment” subsystem (EMAS) for employers to formalize the order for granting the aforementioned leave to employees.
