Although Macron stated that he did not approve of the attacks, he claimed that Iran was primarily responsible for the escalation of the crisis, criticizing the Tehran administration for its nuclear program and support for proxy forces in the region. In his speech, Macron warned Israel, stating that a possible ground operation against Lebanon would be a strategic mistake and a very dangerous escalation.
Aircraft carrier sent to the Eastern Mediterranean
Macron, announcing that they have increased security measures in the region, stated that the army has been mobilized to protect French citizens, allied countries in the region, and maritime trade routes. In this context, Macron announced that they sent the aircraft carrier “Charles de Gaulle” to the Eastern Mediterranean.
