Last year, the number of children born out of wedlock decreased in Azerbaijan.
elchi reports that this was stated by Deputy Minister of Justice Toghrul Huseynov during his speech at the public hearing on “Gender Equality in Legislation: Achievements and Perspectives” held in the Milli Majlis (National Assembly).
He noted that the decrease recorded last year is the result of the joint activities of state bodies and preventive measures:
“Thus, 18,814 children were born out of wedlock in 2022, 15,622 in 2023, 13,228 in 2024, and 11,558 in 2025.”
