The number of alimony-related cases increases by 10 percent year by year.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by Deputy Minister of Justice Toghrul Huseynov in his speech at the public hearing held by the Family, Women and Children Affairs Committee of the Milli Majlis on the topic “Gender Equality in Legislation: Achievements and Perspectives”.
The Deputy Minister noted that in 2025, administrative protocols were drawn up regarding 4299 individuals who evaded alimony payments: “In the last 5 years, the number of alimony cases has increased by up to 10,000. However, the enforcement of alimony cases is low. The difficulties in paying alimony are related to the lack of funds, lack of employment, and frequent changes in workplaces.”
