A person suspected of embezzling money collected in a card account for the purpose of assisting a minor suffering from a serious illness has been detained.
Regarding this, information was provided to “Elchi” by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It was reported that a resident of Baku’s Nasimi district informed the police about the theft of his bank card details, which he had shared on social networks for the purpose of collecting financial aid for his minor child suffering from a serious illness, using information technologies.
As a result of measures taken, Orkhan Hajiyev, suspected of committing the aforementioned act, was identified and detained.
O. Hajiyev stated in his testimony that he obtained the confidential details of that bank card, transferred the funds in the account to various cards, and subsequently cashed them out.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
