NATO Secretary General Rutte urged allies not to forget Ukraine’s needs because of Iran.
“Elchi” reports that NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte urged allies not to forget Ukraine’s needs amidst the US and Israel’s war against Iran. His words were quoted by the ARD television channel.
According to him, the conflict between Moscow and Kyiv must remain at the center of the Alliance’s attention. Rutte stated that “it is necessary to ensure that Ukraine is as strong as possible in this fight”.
He expressed hope that the operation against Iran would not lead to the depletion of US air defense systems.
Previously, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda also stated that the conflict in the Middle East should not distract the international community’s attention from the events in Ukraine.
On the morning of February 28, the US, together with Israel, launched a military operation against Iran. In his address to the nation, the American leader linked the US and Israeli attacks on Iran to “running out of patience” with Tehran’s unwillingness to abandon its nuclear ambitions.
Many cities of the Islamic Republic, including the capital, were attacked. One strike hit the residence of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei; he did not survive. In response, Iran launched missile and drone attacks on Israel and American air bases in the Middle East.
