Rubio: The next phase will be more difficult for Iran

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio claimed that Iran is an “imminent threat” to the US and Israel, stating, “The US military’s heaviest blow has not yet occurred. The next phase will be more difficult for Iran than it is now.”
Speaking to reporters after a meeting in the US Congress, Secretary of State Marco Rubio defended the US and Israeli attacks on Iran.
Rubio claimed that Iran was an “imminent and immediate threat” to both the US and Israel, saying: “There was absolutely an immediate threat. We knew that if Iran was attacked (by Israel), we believed we would also be attacked (by Iran), and they would immediately come after us. We would not digest the attack before retreating and responding.”
Rubio’s statements regarding Israel’s plans concerning Iran fueled discussions about whether Israel was encouraging the US into a war with Iran.
Rubio’s statement as an admission regarding Israel
Rubio, admitting that they knew Israel would attack Iran, said:
“After being attacked by another country (Israel), we were eagerly awaiting their initial attack… Israel attacked them, then they (Iran) attacked us, and if we had waited for them to attack us, we would have suffered more losses and deaths. We acted proactively to prevent them from causing us more harm.”
Rubio, conveying the message that military attacks would continue, said: “The heaviest blow by the US military has not yet been delivered. The next phase will be more difficult for Iran than it is now. So, how long will this last? I don’t know how long it will last. We have goals. We want to achieve these goals.”
Rubio noted that one of the main objectives of their attacks on Iran was to destroy Tehran’s ballistic missile capabilities, adding: “What they have been trying to do for a long time is to create conventional weapon capabilities as a shield.”
The US Secretary of State highlighted Iran’s missile production systems, claiming that Iran produces approximately 100 missiles per month, but only 6-7 air defense missiles per month. In response to a question about his views on regime change in Iran, Rubio said: “While we would like to see a new regime there, the point is that whoever governs the country a year from now will not possess these ballistic missiles that threaten us.”
In response to a question about Israel targeting a school in Iran, Rubio claimed that they do not deliberately target civilians, but Iran does.
