The Main State Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has appealed to moped drivers.
“Elchi” reports, citing the department, that the appeal states that relevant changes have been made to the regulatory legal framework with the aim of preventing road traffic accidents and traffic rule violations caused by moped drivers, ensuring that they take into account their responsibilities as other road users, and comply with the requirements of the legislation.
It was noted that, according to the change, starting from March 26, 2026, an “A1” category driving license, vehicle registration certificate, and state license plate will be required to drive a moped: “Considering that little time remains until the specified date, individuals wishing to drive a moped are advised to apply in advance to the registration and examination points in their respective regions of registration.
We inform that all procedures are applied uniformly, and citizens are ensured to receive services comfortably, efficiently, and on equal terms.
Individuals wishing to drive a moped are requested to take into account the specified period and to fulfill their duties in a timely manner in accordance with the requirements of the legislation, so as not to be subjected to administrative responsibility starting from the mentioned date.”
