Iftar program organized for Azerbaijanis in Istanbul

An iftar program has been organized for Azerbaijanis living in Istanbul, Turkey.

According to information from “Elchi”‘s Turkey bureau, the ceremony was held with the joint organization of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Foundation for the Promotion of Moral Values operating under it, and with the support of the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Istanbul, “Zeynabiyya” Mosque and Cultural Center.

The iftar program was attended by Chairman of the State Committee Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the Turkish Directorate of Religious Affairs Safi Arpaquş, Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Istanbul Narmina Mustafayeva, Turkish deputies, representatives of diplomatic missions, local religious figures, and public representatives.

Ramin Mammadov, speaking at the iftar program, stated that Azerbaijani-Turkish friendship and cooperation is a tradition stemming from history.

Narmina Mustafayeva, stating that Azerbaijani-Turkish brotherhood has emerged victorious from the trials of history time and again, noted that as a result, a stronger bond has been established between the two countries and peoples.

Chairman of the Turkish Directorate of Religious Affairs Safi Arpaquş also spoke, touching upon Azerbaijani-Turkish unity, and wished for the month of Ramadan to be a source of success for the Islamic world.

In the end, the religious communities of Turkey and Azerbaijan and other guests took a family photo.
