Denmark accepts France’s invitation regarding nuclear deterrence

Denmark has accepted France’s invitation to join cooperation in the field of nuclear deterrence.

“Elchi” reports, citing TASS, that this was stated by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.

She stated that three countries in NATO – the US, Great Britain, and France – possess nuclear deterrence capabilities:

“French President Emmanuel Macron has invited Denmark and several other countries to closer cooperation in this area. This is being done to strengthen Europe’s deterrence capabilities. Unfortunately, this is necessary. Therefore, Denmark has agreed to participate in this cooperation.”

Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen explained that cooperation with Paris does not mean the deployment of French nuclear weapons in Denmark.

Earlier, Emmanuel Macron stated that France considers the deployment of strategic force elements on the territory of allies and the conduct of joint exercises possible within the framework of a new and advanced deterrence concept.
