A phone conversation was held between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and the European Union’s (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas.
“Elchi” reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan released information about this.
During the phone conversation, the current security situation resulting from increasing military tension and escalation in the region was discussed.
The parties expressed serious concern about the situation in the region resulting from the confrontation and emphasized the importance of resolving the conflict through diplomatic means.
Azerbaijan’s significant role in the evacuation of foreign nationals, including citizens of EU member states, from Iran was appreciated.
The parties also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
