Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov and his Moldovan counterpart Dorin Jungietu discussed cooperation in natural gas production at a meeting held in Baku.
“Elchi” Referring to the Ministry of Energy of Moldova, it is reported that Dorin Jungietu is participating in the 12th ministerial meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council in Baku.
“Within the framework of the event, Minister Dorin Jungietu held a bilateral meeting with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in natural gas production, developing regional demand, and opportunities for mutual cooperation amidst the ongoing liberalization of Moldova’s gas market,” the statement said.
In the context of the restructuring of European gas markets, the parties emphasized the key role of expanding infrastructure, regulatory coordination, and regional partnerships to ensure long-term supply security.
The Moldovan minister highlighted the importance of a pragmatic policy supporting the implementation of new projects in the gas sector in parallel with the advancement of energy transition. He invited Azerbaijani companies to a new tender for the construction of a 170 MW wind farm with the integration of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), which will enhance the flexibility and sustainability of the national energy system.
