Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to Strengthen Cooperation of Diplomatic Missions Amid Regional Tension

On March 2, 2026, a telephone conversation was held between Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Yermek Kosherbayev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to information provided to “Elchi” by the MFA, military escalation and increasing tension in the region were discussed during the telephone conversation.

The Ministers expressed their deep concern over the recent military escalation and emphasized that a further exacerbation of the situation poses a serious threat to regional security and stability.

The parties stated that it would be beneficial to strengthen cooperation between the consular sections of the two countries’ diplomatic missions located in the region and to organize coordinated work in providing support to their citizens.

During the telephone conversation, an exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest.
