The US supports Pakistan’s right to self-defense against Afghanistan’s Taliban Movement.
“Elchi” reports that Allison Hooker, US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, stated this.
“We continue to closely monitor what is happening. We have already expressed our support for Pakistan’s right to defend itself against attacks by the Taliban,” she said.
Allison Hooker noted that she held a phone conversation with Pakistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Amina Baloch and offered condolences regarding those who died as a result of the recent confrontation with the Taliban.
US President Donald Trump also expressed his support for Pakistan: “I have very, very good relations with Pakistan.”
The American leader emphasized that he has great respect for Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif: “I think Pakistan is doing great.”
